Geraldton is the gateway to the MidWest region and the first major urban centre to the north of Perth. Regarded as one of the best places on Earth for a wide variety of wind and water sports, you’ll find a range of sports and activities here to suit all tastes and skill levels.

The Midwest is more than sun and sport, though. Here, you will find some of Western Australia’s newest wineries and other industries.

A picturesque driving tour from Geraldton is Chapman Valley, which has a combination of beautiful scenery and many historical points of interest.

Geraldton is the ideal base to explore the region’s incredibly beautiful and varied wildflowers. The whole area comes ablaze with the beauty of the native flora during the wildflower season, which attracts visitors from all over the world.

For the more adventurous, the Abrolhos Islands are a chain of more than 100 islands. They are approximately 60 km west of Geraldton and 300 km NNW of Perth. None of the islands rises more than 14 metres above sea level, and they are home to a rich variety of fauna, including a wide range of sea birds.
